How long have you been doing what you do and how did you get to be a holistic health coach?
Maybe I need to go back a little further and tell you how my life has evolved so far. I come from a visual and performing arts background, having been a painter in the late 70s in Berlin and a soloist in the New York dance scene in the 80s and 90s. I conceived and choreographed multimedia dance works and toured internationally in the Americas, Asia, Australia, and Europe. I even played the role of the bald bartender in the Hollywood movie “Bright Lights, Big City”.
As an artist I enjoyed reinventing myself project by project. To this day, I love incorporating new skills and methods into my work. In my late thirties I purchased a farm in my native country Estonia (a dream come true) and have turned it into an art and wellness center, where I conduct yoga, wellness and cooking retreats during the summer months.
As a passionate natural foods chef, I grow my own herbs and vegetables and personally oversee the quality and tastiness of all meals served to my guests. In order to qualify in pampering my guests with delicious healthy food I decided in my late forties to go back to school to study with world-renowned nutrition specialists at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. That was a life changing experience.
My focus has since shifted to making MY LIFE a work of art by choosing a natural, holistic lifestyle, where body, mind and spirit are integrated and deeply cared for.
As a holistic health coach I now inspire other women in their 40s, 50s and 60s to step into the limelight of their own lives. I love showing women how to make self care a priority – from the right nutrition that supports their wellness, to enjoyable physical activities that turn back the clock, to reconnecting with a sense of purpose, to even creating community and a high quality lifestyle that will bring back enthusiasm, passion and the desire to make the second half of their lives exceptional.
And the best part of it is that you do not have to be an artist to be creative! But you do have to realize, that you are the author of your life, and nobody else can do it for you.
Who are your clients exactly?
My clients are women in midlife and early retirement who consciously want to make the next 20, 30 even 50 years of their life a work of art.
My clients typically have dedicated their lives to many causes, be it rearing their children, creating a home, focusing on a career, taking care of their husband and family, or even building a business. Yet so often this has come at a cost of putting their own needs and desires on the backburner.
My clients have arrived at a turning point in their life and want to really become clear what their needs are and how to take good care of these needs. They are ready to invest in themselves, their health and their future.
These are interesting and engaging women who want to stay healthy and active, reclaim their vitality and do so gracefully.
How are you different from other health coaches?
While other health coaches might focus on nutrition and exercise alone, my approach is holistic. Meaning, my experience has shown me that there is more in life that nourishes us than is the food on your plate.
Just as important as eating well and exercising is to live a life that is aligned with your heart’s desires and sense of purpose. You do not live in a vacuum and it is important to surround yourself with likeminded people, to consciously create your community, to give and receive support and encouragement.
My coaching integrates all of these aspects to ensure long-term success.
What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?
I enjoy working with women who are eager to learn and ready to make changes. Unless you take what you learn and apply it in your everyday life, nothing will change for the better. I like working with women who are ready for action, who are proactive, open to new ideas and willing to explore and experiment. I click best with women who appreciate beauty, have an affinity for things natural, and enjoy life’s sensual pleasures.
For what type of person are your programs NOT going to work?
My programs will not work for women who do not want to take responsibility themselves for their health and well-being, who do not want to put some awareness and effort into their transformation, who are looking for a quick fix (which by the way does not exist), and who like to complain but make no changes.
If you’re someone who is willing to try new things, tastes and new ways of enjoying life, then chances are we’ll work beautifully together.
What exactly is your 5 Step Signature System and what does it include?
In order to make any good work of art you need enthusiasm, energy and desire.
Once you understand about eating well, engage in a physical activity that you love, reconnect to your purpose, gather a support base of likeminded people around you and upgrade the quality of your lifestyle, making your life a work of art comes naturally. In our work together we will integrate all five elements to one organic whole, allowing you to finally live life on your terms.
